Outdoor phone charging solution for theme parks launched

Running out of smartphone battery at an amusement park could be a thing of the past with a new charging station solution.

CarrierClass Green Infrastructure (CCGI) will be displaying its new ‘ConnecTable’ solar power charging and backup power system at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) trade show being held in Orlando, Florida, between November 18-21.

The ConnecTable provides solar power for mobile device charging, with CCGI saying it could either bring electricity to areas where visitors need it or where an amusement park would like its guests to congregate.

According to CCGI, each table is a self-sustaining, off-the-grid solar power unit that features two commercial quality, 265-watt solar panels that also serve as a shade canopy. The solar panel charges a battery that supports four 120-volt outlets and eight USB outlets and is a 90mph wind rated structure.

The units can also be used on shady days or placed in partially shaded areas without compromising the availability of power because of its off grid power system design.
